Holi festival will be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on 24th March. Hot food is eaten on this day especially after Holika Dahan. Based on this belief, some items are made the next day itself. Then weave it evenly in a circle. – Now heat a pan and add ghee or oil on it and fry the thepla. When thepla becomes light brown from both the sides, serve it hot. You can also try adding butter on it. Apart from this, you can also serve thepla with athana or curd.

If you want to enjoy any one dish then you can easily make Handwa at home this evening. You can eat it with chutney or with tea. – First of all soak rice and pulses separately. Then grind it in a mixer and make a thick pudding. – Now add salt to it and keep it covered for 6 to 7 hours and let the yeast rise. While cooking, add grated cabbage, carrots and milk, add chopped green chillies. And if needed, add lemon juice as per taste. Now heat oil in a vessel, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, neem leaves, sesame seeds and 1 chopped green chilli, add ginger-garlic paste. – Place kheer in a pot and pour this mixture over it. (Or mix this mixture in kheer and then put the kheer in Handaviya) and let it cook on low flame. Let rise for about 40 to 45 minutes.

Malpua

This dish is traditionally made on the day of Holi. You can easily prepare for this. First of all take a big mixing bowl. – Mix flour, rava, water and sugar in it. Keep stirring the sugar continuously with a spoon so that the sugar melts and lumps do not form. Add as much water as required. Make smooth batter for Malpua. Beat this batter for about 20 minutes. – Now take a pan and heat oil or ghee in it. Pour the batter in a round shape with the help of a spoon. Fry it until it turns golden brown on both sides. When the Malpua is cooked well, take it out on a paper napkin so that the excess oil or ghee is absorbed. Now on the other hand, make syrup by mixing water and sugar in a pan. – Add prepared Malpua in it. – Now after 2 minutes, take out the Malpua in a plate. Garnish it with dry fruits. You can also eat it with rabri.
