Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed on his two-day state visit to Bhutan on Friday (March 22). Upon Prime Minister Modi's arrival, his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay addressed him as 'elder brother'.
Tobgay said in a post on Instagram, “Welcome to Bhutan my elder brother Narendra Modi ji. Today on March 23, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Gyaltsuen Jetson Pema Wangchuk Maternal and Child Hospital in Bhutan. An amazing view of the hospital was seen. Let us tell you that the hospital is completely funded by the Government of India. Earlier, Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay said, 'I congratulate my friend Prime Minister Modi on receiving Bhutan's highest civilian award. I congratulate , He is the first foreigner to get it so we are very proud and happy.
Tobgay said it is an honor to welcome Prime Minister Modi on a two-day state visit to Bhutan. The two-day state visit could not have been better than this. Every citizen of Bhutan welcomed him with open heart. This historic visit is going to further strengthen the already strong relations between the two countries.
