Sensex 191 points stronger, Nifty closed near 22,000

After a flat start to the day, Indian stock market indices gained momentum as the session progressed and ended the day with gains. Except the IT sector, all the stocks remained bullish and the markets closed with gains for the third consecutive day today.

After early losses of over 200 points, BSE Sensex closed 190.75 points or 0.26 per cent higher at 72,831.94, while Nifty also closed 84.40 points or 0.39 per cent higher at 22,096.80. The market closed lower after IT giant Accenture cut its full-year revenue estimates, triggering a morning selloff in IT stocks. However, after this the market gained momentum in all other sectors.

Today's top gainers include UPL, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motor Corp, Bajaj Auto and Sun Pharma, while top losers include Wipro, Infosys, ATI Mindtree, HCL Techno and TCS. For the broader market, the BSE Midcap index closed up 0.38 per cent today while the Small Cap index closed up 1.06 per cent. Among sectoral indices today, IT index fell 2.6 per cent, while Metal, Auto, Realty, FMCG, Capital Goods, Healthcare and Power indices closed 0.5 per cent to 1 per cent higher. Today the investor's wealth is Rs. An increase of Rs 2.3 lakh crore was made.

On weekly basis, both Sensex and Nifty closed up 1 percent. With this, both the indexes have closed with a rise for the second consecutive week. This week, out of 50 stocks included in Nifty, 31 stocks closed with gains. Barring IT and FMCG indices, sectoral indices also closed on a weekly basis. During this period, an increase of 2 percent has been recorded in the auto and realty indices.

In March DII's Rs. Net purchase of Rs 47,398 crore

FIIA traded in the Indian stock market today at Rs. Net sales of Rs 3,309 crore, while DII reported Rs. Net purchase of Rs 3,764 crore. Along with this, so far in March FIIA has invested Rs. Net borrowing of Rs 945 crore while DII Rs. Took a net of Rs 47,398 crore.

IT stocks fell up to 4 per cent after Accenture cut revenue estimates. IT stocks fell today after major IT company Accenture cut its revenue estimate for financial year 2024. Stock market will remain closed for two days next week

The stock market will remain closed on Monday due to dust and the stock market will also remain closed on Friday due to Good Friday. Thus, only three-day trading sessions will be conducted in the next week.
