Ranchi, 17 February (HS). Kudmi Samaj convenor Sheetal Ohdar said that Kudmi Hunkar Maharally has been organized on February 25 at Morhabadi Ground, Ranchi. He said that a mega rally has been organized to demand listing of the totemic Kudmi Mahato tribe in the list of Scheduled Tribes and inclusion of Kudmali language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
Ohdar was speaking at a press conference on Saturday. He said that lakhs of people of Kudmi community will participate in it with their traditional costumes, traditional dance and songs, Chhau Naach, Jhumar Naach, Pata Naach, Natuwa Naach, Ghoda Naach and Gaja-Baja. Preparations are being made on a large scale at the village level. He said that Kudmi Hunkar Maharally will be historic. About five lakh people of the society will participate in this Maharally.
Om Prakash Mahato, Sakhichand Mahato, Kapildev Mahato, Thaneshwar Mahato, Hemlal Mahato, Sonalal Mahato, Sandeep Mahato, Shivlal Mahato and others were present on this occasion.
