Three-day farmers fair cum agricultural garden exhibition organized in BAU Sabour

Bhagalpur, 17 February (HS). A three-day Kisan Fair cum Agricultural Garden Exhibition was organized on the subject of self-reliant farmers through technology-based farming from Saturday at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour Bhagalpur.

The Kisan Mela was formally inaugurated by the chief guest, Rural Development Department Minister of Bihar Government, Shravan Kumar and other guests by jointly lighting the lamp. In his address during the program, the chief guest, Rural Development Department Minister of Bihar Government, Shravan Kumar said that all the officials of the institutions, agricultural universities and farmers organizing this program deserve thanks. He said that farmers are our main support. Strengthening them is the main goal of our government.

The Minister said that through such programmes, farmers get information about new technologies related to agriculture. The benefit of which they get in the production of crops. He said that Bihar government is determined for the development of farmers. Many beneficial schemes are also being run by the government for farmers. After this, the Minister saw the stall set up in the Kisan Mela and appreciated it. Bhagalpur MP Ajay Mandal was the special guest in the program. The program was presided over by Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University.

During this time, Director of Directorate of Extension Education RK Sohane was also present. In the inaugural session of this three-day Kisan Mela program, Gopalpur MLA Gopal Mandal, Bhagalpur MLA Ajit Sharma, Sultanganj MLA Lalit Narayan Mandal, Nathnagar MLA Mohammad Ali Ashraf Siddiqui, Kahalgaon MLA Pawan Kumar Yadav, Bihpur MLA Engineer Kumar Shailendra, Pirpainti MLA Lalan Kumar, Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Sanjeev Kumar Singh NK Yadav of Bihar Legislative Council were present. Before this, all the farmers who came from far away places decorated their stalls after getting registered since morning. Many types of stalls were set up in the fair ranging from flowers, fruits, bees, mushrooms. After that, a workshop and cultural program was also organized on the topic of self-reliant farmers through technology-based farming. A farmers seminar, animal exhibition has been organized on 18th February and a felicitation ceremony and prize distribution program has been organized on 19th February.
