MP: As per High Court order, ASI survey of canteens in Dhar will be conducted today

Following the decision of Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on the issue of Bhojshala located on the border of Madhya Pradesh, a team of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will survey Bhojshala on Friday. Indore bench of the High Court had ordered last week that the canteen should be surveyed by ASI. According to Hindu organizations, the Kamal Maulana Mosque in Dhar is actually the Saraswati Temple Bhojshala, which was built by Raja Bhoje in 1034 for the study of Sanskrit, but was later demolished by the Mughal invaders.

The report is to be submitted before April 29

The High Court, in its order, said that a comprehensive carbon dating study should be conducted to determine the age and structure of the structures above and below ground in the Bhojshala complex. The next hearing of the case will be on April 29. Also, ASIA has to submit its report to the court before April 29.

In 1305 AD, Alauddin Khilji demolished Bhojshala. After that in 1401, Dilawar Khan Ghori built a mosque in a part of Bhojshala. Then in 1514 AD, Mahmood Shah Khilji got the mosque constructed in the second part also. Excavation was done here in 1875. In which a statue of Mother Saraswati emerged.
