Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Principal Advisor Dr. Mohammad Yunus made a big announcement in the name of the nation on Tuesday evening amid the rumors of the coup and political instability in Bangladesh. He clarified that elections in the country will be held between December this year to June next year.
Yunus said in his address-
“We want this election to be the most fair and acceptable election in the history of Bangladesh. The Election Commission is preparing for it, and we hope that all political parties will enthusiastically participate in the electoral process.”
‘Conspiracy to destabilize the country with misinformation’ – Younus
Yunus in his address expressed concern over fake news and increasing spread of misinformation.

He said that rumors are being spread through social media and media.

Some forces are editing the photographs and firing false enemies and are presenting the events of other countries by connecting it to Bangladesh.

According to Younus,
“As the election gets closer, this propaganda will become even more dangerous.”
Help sought from United Nations
Yunus claimed that who are behind this propaganda, it is not hidden from anyone.

He said that the Bangladesh government has sought cooperation from the United Nations to stop this propaganda.

The UN General Secretary has also assured Bangladesh to support the matter.
Referring to the ‘July coup’ in his address, he said that –
“The government has successfully terminated its first phase and now the second phase is starting.”
“We are in a state of war” – Younus
Yunus clearly stated that the current situation of Bangladesh cannot be taken lightly.

“We should not forget that we are in a state of war. Our opponents are using rumors as their biggest weapon.” -
Yunus further said,
“There are big experts and heavy financial resources behind this campaign, whose only objective is to fail our government. But we will not let this conspiracy succeed.”
