A senior US Navy official says that China has started full preparations to capture Taiwan by 2027.
Admiral John Aquilino, in-charge of the Navy's Indo-Pacific Command, told the US Congress that despite economic challenges, China has increased its defense budget by a huge 16 percent in the last few years. China's defense budget has now reached $223 billion.
He further said that I have been in charge of the Indo-Pacific Command for the last three years and during this period the Chinese Army has added 400 new fighter aircraft and 20 big warships to its fleet. China has doubled its stockpile of missiles and cruise missiles. All these things indicate that China is preparing to capture Taiwan by 2027. As soon as Chinese President Xi Jinping gave orders, the message is being received that the Chinese Army is ready to swallow Taiwan with its own strength.
Admiral John Aquilino said that the Chinese military is also continuously studying the attack on Taiwan. It appears that China is planning to surround Taiwan through air and sea routes.
