Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission has taken another major action. The Election Commission has made major administrative reshuffle in four states. The Election Commission has transferred the non-cadre DM-SP. The Election Commission has issued transfer orders of non-cadre officers holding leadership positions like District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) in Gujarat, Punjab, Orissa and West Bengal.
The officers whose transfer orders have been issued include SPs of Chhota Udaipur and Ahmedabad Rural districts of Gujarat. Not only this, SSP of Pathankot, Fazilka, Jalandhar Rural and Malerkotla districts of Punjab. Along with this, DM of Dhekanal of Odisha and SP of Deogarh and Cuttack Rural and DM of East Medinipur, Jhargram, East Bardhaman and Birbhum districts of West Bengal are also included. Apart from this, the Election Commission has also given instructions for transfer of SSP Bathinda in Punjab and SP Sonitpur in Assam.
Let us tell you that the post of DM and SP in the district is for the officers of Indian Administrative and Indian Police Service respectively. Not only this, the Election Commission has also transferred IPS officers who are relatives of leaders in Assam and Punjab. The Election Commission has issued an order in this regard. According to the order, SSP of Bathinda in Punjab and SP of Sonitpur in Assam have been transferred. The Election Commission has taken this decision because officials of the relatives of the leaders are directly involved in the election work.
