
New Delhi/Washington: The Happiness Index for the year 2024, which will be organized to see how happy people are in countries around the world including India, has been announced. In this index of the United Nations, it has been said that Finland is in first place and the people here are the happiest in the world. This index was announced keeping in mind 146 countries. In which India is at 126th position. India's happiness index is higher than neighboring countries Nepal, China and Pakistan. While among the happiest countries, Finland is at first place, Denmark is at second place and Iceland is at third place.
According to the 2024 World Happiness Report released by the United Nations, Finland has become the happiest country in the world for the seventh consecutive time. United Nations experts doing research on people's happiness have said in this report that Finland has reached the first place due to people's attachment to nature, maintaining a balance between healthy lifestyle and work. Apart from this, this index has been prepared keeping in mind the social security of the people in different countries, trust in government institutions, less corruption, good health-education and various facilities provided by the government, brotherhood, freedom and generosity in the society.
India's rank in this index of 146 countries is 126, last year also it had the same rank. Whereas India's neighboring country Pakistan is at 108th, Myanmar at 118th, Sri Lanka at 128th, Bangladesh at 129th. India has been ranked among the least happy countries in this ranking. The last place in the list of the happiest countries is Afghanistan, which has been occupied by Afghanistan for years. The index revealed that women are less happy than men among the elderly in India. It has been found that the level of happiness in women decreases with age. Different continents of the world have been divided in this index.
In the Asian continent, Singapore is at the top, while Taiwan is at second and Japan at third place. India is not included in the happiest countries of Asia, while China is in ninth place. In this list, Canada is at 15th, Britain at 20th, while Germany is at 24th and France is at 27th. While the US and Germany have been ranked among the top 20 happiest countries in the world for the past decade, this is the first time that they have fallen out of the top 20. America is at 23rd place in the list, which was at 16th place at the beginning of last year. Costa Rica and Kuwait retained the 12th and 13th positions.
