The 17th National Paracanoe Championship was organized in the small lake of the capital Bhopal from March 18 to 20, in which the players of Madhya Pradesh Sports Academy made the state proud by winning a total of five medals including three gold. In the championship on Wednesday, Sports Academy's para international player Prachi Yadav won 200 m. In the VL-2 event, Pooja Garg of Madhya Pradesh won gold medal with a time of 01:02:412 minutes and Pooja Garg of Madhya Pradesh won silver medal with a time of 01:23:935 minutes and Delhi player Shilpa Shaluja won bronze medal with a time of 02:09:121 minutes. Rajni Jha of the Academy demonstrated her sportsmanship and physical efficiency in the 200 meter VL-3 event and won a bronze medal by clocking 01:11:512 minutes. In the 200 meter VL-3 event, Sangeeta Rajput of Haryana won the gold medal by clocking 01:06:372 minutes and Shawna of Uttar Pradesh won the silver medal by clocking 01:07:573 minutes.
In the same championship, Academy's para player Manish Kaurav performed brilliantly in the men's category of KL event and won a gold medal by clocking 43:580 seconds. The silver medal was won by SSCB player Pawar Rajesh with a timing of 44:693 seconds. The bronze medal was won by SSCB player Vajith V with a timing of 45:019 seconds.
In this way, in the 17th National Paracanoe Championship 2024 held in Bhopal, the players of the academy earned three gold, two silver and one bronze. All the medal winning players are receiving training in Kayaking-Canoeing sports under the guidance of trainer Captain Pijush Kanti Baroi.
