Ranchi, 17 February (HS). So far, survey work of 26,512 PVTG families has been done in Jharkhand under PM Janman Yojana. Of these, 18,739 beneficiaries have been registered and housing approval has been given to 6,870 beneficiaries. This scheme aims to provide permanent housing to houseless tribal families. The Rural Development Department is giving assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the approved beneficiaries for the construction of houses.
Apart from this, Rs 27,000 will be given for unskilled labor under MNREGA and Rs 12,000 will be given for toilet construction. This scheme is being implemented with the support of the Central Government in the ratio of 60:40. Rs 30 thousand of the first installment has been given to start the housing construction work. The amount has been allotted as first installment to 5,273 beneficiaries. The second installment will be given for lintel, the third installment for molding and the fourth and final installment will be given after the completion of the house. More schemes have been approved in areas like Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Chaibasa etc.
