
Chris Gopalakrishnan: Infosys co-founder S. Of. A case has been registered against 18 people, including Gopalakrishnan and 18 people, including Balaram, former director of the Indian Institute of Science, under the SC-ST Act at Sadashiv Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru. In the FIR lodged on the order of a session court in the city, a person alleged that he was falsely implicated in the honeytrap and later expelled from the Indian Institute of Science on this basis. Gopalakrishnan has been a member of the trustee board in this institution. The complainant Durgappa Bovi is from the tribal community. According to Durgappa, he was a faculty member in the IIS Center for Sustainable Technology.
Durgappa claims, ‘In 2014 I was implicated in HoneyTrap and later fired from the job on the pretext of it. I was threatened with racial comments. In this case, Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandhya Vishwarai, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Balram P, Hemlata Mahisi, K. Chattopadhyay and Pradeep D. Savarkar are included. So far no FIR or statement has been revealed by Gopalakrishnan in this case. It is believed that people whose names are included in the FIR in this case can call them for questioning.
What is the connection of Gopalakrishnan with Infosys?
Gopalakrishnan was the vice -president of Infosys, a company headed by Narayan Murthy from 2011 to 2014. Apart from this, he was also CEO and MD from 2007 to 2011. He has been one of the company’s co-founders and is a well-known name in the IT industry. In 2013-14, he was elected as the chairman of the Federation of Indian Industry, a major industry body. Apart from this, he led the business community at the World Economic Forum held in Davos in 2014. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2011. Gopalakrishnan, who holds a master’s degree in Physics, is of several decades of career and in such a case his name creates concern. However, he is not the main accused in the case.
