IMD Update: Due to western disturbance, warning of heavy rain has been issued in Odisha. IMD has issued an orange alert of heavy rain with strong winds in 5 districts of the state for 24 hours from Wednesday morning, March 20.
The Meteorological Department says that on March 21 and 22, there may be heavy rain in Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Nayagarh districts. There is also a possibility of lightning along with strong winds in these districts.

The IMD has also issued an orange alert for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Nayagarh and Puri districts.
Apart from this, yellow alert has been issued in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha regarding storm and lightning.
