Experts say that if the ship is freed from pirates, the world will know the strength of the Indian Navy

The Indian Navy recently rescued a ship from pirates in the Arabian Sea. The efficiency and military prowess with which the Navy carried out this operation is being appreciated across the world and experts have also become admirers of the capabilities of the Indian Navy. American media reports have quoted several experts as saying that the Indian Navy's special forces capability is one of the most powerful special forces in the world.

'Indian Navy's training is world class'

Last week the Navy had rescued a merchant ship MV Rouen from pirates and in that operation rescued 17 crew members and forced about 35 pirates to surrender and were detained. Naval warships, patrol ships, drones, Indian Air Force C-17 transport aircraft, surveillance jets and marine commandos participated in the operation. John Bradford of the Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs said, 'The success of this operation demonstrates that the Indian Navy's training, command and control capabilities and other capabilities are world-class. The special thing about this operation is that in this difficult operation, the operation was carried out with coordination and the loss was minimal.

Experts are concerned that Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels are targeting merchant ships in the Red Sea following the Israel-Hamas war. Houthi rebels may join hands with international organisations, while pirates have also become quite active in recent times. Such a situation could pose a serious threat to international shipping routes and the global economy. In December last year, pirates hijacked the Malta-flagged and Bulgarian-operated merchant ship MV Rouen. After hijacking, the pirates took the ship to their territory. Now this ship was used by pirates to loot other ships.

This is how the Navy carried out the operation

The Indian Navy has recently detected a ship named MV Rouen. After this, he sent his warship INS Kolkata, which was monitoring the area, to protect the ship from pirates. With the help of drones, information was also obtained about the pirates present on the ship. Pirates also fired on naval ships. INS Kolkata asked the pirates to surrender. Meanwhile, with the help of C-17 transport aircraft, Naval Commando Force Marcos was landed in the Arabian Sea.

Marcos commandos boarded the hijacked ship and conducted an operation to force all the pirates to surrender. There was no loss in this operation. Bulgarian leaders have also praised India and thanked PM Modi. Bulgarian President Rumen Radev also praised India. The Navy has rescued 17 crew members, including 7 Bulgarian nationals, from the ship. Former US Navy officer Carl Schuster has also praised the Navy and especially the MARCOS commandos who jumped out of a plane and seized a ship in the Arabian Sea. India's Ministry of External Affairs said in January that maritime security in the region is a priority for India.
