Himachal Pradesh Government has issued a notification for the recruitment of 80 posts of Mine Guards in the Geological Wing of the Industries Department. Under this recruitment, posts have been allocated in various districts:

  • Bilaspur: 5 posts
  • Chamba: 5 posts
  • Hamirpur: 5 posts
  • Kangra (Dharamshala): 8 posts
  • Kinnaur (Rekong Peo): 5 posts
  • Kullu: 4 posts
  • Lahaul-Spiti (Keylong): 3 posts
  • Market: 8 posts
  • Noorpur (Kangra): 4 posts
  • Solan: 8 posts
  • Shimla: 7 posts
  • Sirmaur (Nahan): 8 posts
  • Una: 10 posts

Recruitment Process and Application Details

Youth who have passed graduation will be eligible for this recruitment and it will be mandatory for them to pass the physical examination, as is done in the process of police constable recruitment. The department will publish the advertisement and candidates from general area will have to apply within 30 days and candidates from tribal area within 45 days from the date of publication of advertisement. Application forms can be obtained from the official website of the Industries Department or from the office of the General Manager of the District Industries Centre.

Educational Qualification and Physical Examination

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor Degree
  • Age Limit: 20 to 30 years
  • Physical Test for Male Candidates:
    • 100 meter race: 14 seconds
    • 1500 meter run: 10 minutes
    • Minimum Height: 165 cms
    • Chest: 79 centimeters
  • Physical Test for Female Candidates:
    • 100 meter race: 17 seconds
    • 800 meter run: 6 minutes
    • Minimum Height: 150 Centimeters
    • Chest: 74 cm

Selection Process and Merit

Under the recruitment process, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of total 90 marks. Additional marks will be given for different categories:

  • For Bachelor’s degree: 75 marks
  • For EWS and BPL candidates: 2 additional marks
  • For SC, ST and OBC candidates: Gain of 2 marks
  • For prior experience: 3 marks
  • For Widow, Divorcee, Single Women and Orphan candidates: 3 marks
  • For NCC, NSS, Bharat Scout Guide and National Award winners: 5 additional marks

Transparency and monitoring

The selection process will be done with complete transparency. Document verification and physical test will be monitored by a committee constituted under the chairmanship of Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in the districts.
