– Add baking powder to the flour and mix well. – Add half a cup of ghee in it and mix the ingredients well. – Knead the dough by gradually adding water little by little.
-The dough should not be kneaded too much. To ensure that the sanding layers are formed properly, they should be mixed gently with hands.
-When the flour is mixed well, leave it like this for about 15 minutes.
-To make syrup, take a pan and add one cup of water and sugar in it. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
-When the syrup boils, add food color as per your choice and keep stirring for about 2 minutes.
-If you are adding saffron then crush it and also add cardamom pods. Cook until the syrup is completely ready.
-Take some portions of the dough and make smooth balls out of them. Flatten them slightly with your palms and make a depression in the center using your thumb or the back of a spoon.
– Heat ghee or oil in a pan and fry the Balushahi on low flame until it becomes golden brown and crisp.
– After frying, dip the Balushahi in syrup and let it soak for about 2 to 3 minutes.
– Garnish with pistachios and dry fruits on top.
