Mahakumbh Mela 2025: Controversy has arisen due to the installation of the statue of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav in the camp built for the Maha Kumbh Mela starting from today in Sangam city Prayagraj. Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and other saints have opposed this statue and said, ‘Installing the statue of an anti-Hindu leader in this festival of the sacred faith of Hindus is an insult to Hindus.’
On the installation of the statue, Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri said, ‘Mulayam Singh Yadav is of anti-Hindu and anti-Sanatan ideology. The purpose of installing the statue of Mulayam Singh Yadav is to remind us of the incident in which his people killed Hindus.
No problem with Mulayam Singh
Mahant further said, ‘We have no problem with Mulayam Singh. He has been our Chief Minister. But what message do they want to send by installing this statue? Everyone knows what he did in the Ram Mandir movement. He has always been anti-Hindu, anti-Sanatan and pro-Muslim. Mahamandaleshwar Yati Narasimhanand of the old Akhara also supported the statement of Mahant Ravindra Puri. There is a huge crowd of devotees in this Mahakumbh which will run from today till 26th February. Till now 60 lakh people have taken the holy bath. However, a controversy has arisen over the statue of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav being placed in a camp in this Maha Kumbh Mela.
Install a statue two to three feet high
Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey yesterday said that the Mulayam Singh Yadav Smriti Seva Sansthan on Saturday unveiled the nearly two to three feet tall statue of the former chief minister in the Kumbh complex. The objective of this camp is to promote the ideology of Yadav. Pilgrims are welcome to rest and dine at this camp. Symbolically, a small statue of Mulayam Singh Yadav has been installed. After Mahakumbh, the statue will be installed in the party office.
