Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its second list of candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections, in which the names of 29 candidates have been announced. Through this list, BJP has tried to woo the rural as well as Purvanchali voters, in which many leaders of Jat, Gurjar and Purvanchal have been fielded in the election field.

Arvind Kejriwal had recently demanded the inclusion of Jats of Delhi in the OBC list, to which the BJP has responded through its second list. BJP has fielded Jat candidates from Narela, Timarpur, Mundka, Palam, Matiala and Najafgarh. Even before New Delhi, Jat leader Pravesh Verma was made the candidate.
Leader of Gurjar and Purvanchal
BJP has fielded Gurjar candidates from Kasturba Nagar, Tughlakabad and Okhla seats. Apart from this, Purvanchali leaders like Kapil Mishra, Anil Gaur, Bajrang Shukla and Abhay Verma have also been fielded in the election field, who can influence the voters of this community.
Entry of young faces
BJP has also included new faces in its second list. Neelam Pehalwan, who was a three-time municipal councilor from Najafgarh, has been given the ticket. The party has also expressed confidence in Seelampur municipal councilor Anil Gaur.

BJP has fielded some leaders by changing seats. Kapil Mishra has been fielded from Model Town to Karawal Nagar and Karm Singh Karma from Mangolpuri to Sultanpur Majra seat. Apart from this, Neeraj Baisoya, who left Congress and joined BJP, has been given ticket from Kasturba Nagar.
Sons of former Chief Ministers in the fray
In the BJP’s list of candidates, Harish Khurana, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana, has been made the candidate from Moti Nagar seat. Along with this, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s son Sandeep Dikshit and Sahib Singh Verma’s son Pravesh Verma are also contesting the elections, making the contest even more interesting.

The last date for nomination for the assembly elections is January 17, and the BJP has so far declared its candidates for a total of 58 seats, while the names of candidates for 12 seats are still undecided. These seats are being considered, and candidates can be announced on these also within the next two days.
