Heart attack in children: The incidence of heart attacks is increasing rapidly. Earlier, elderly people used to suffer heart attacks more, but in recent times, youth and now especially children are also suffering heart attacks. Now the situation is even more worrying because the incidence of heart attacks in children is increasing day by day. Many people die of heart attack due to poor lifestyle and eating habits. Recently, an eight-year-old girl studying in class 3 in Thaltej area of Ahmedabad suffered a heart attack in school and died. When many such incidents have happened before, the question is how can children of such a young age have a heart attack?
According to health experts, it is difficult to tell any specific cause of heart attack in children but this problem can mostly be due to bad lifestyle. Experts say that today’s children are not physically active. Due to mobiles and TV, children stay away from sports and physical activities. Apart from this, due to online classes their physical activity has reduced a lot. As a result, problems like obesity and cholesterol increase rapidly.
It is also a big risk to follow the Weston culture too quickly. Nowadays, children consume excessive amounts of junk food and processed food, which has a bad effect on the body. This type of food contains more sugar, more salt and more fat which weakens the heart arteries and increases the risk of heart attack.
Apart from this, the second reason is that different types of video games are available in mobile phones. In this kind of game, the pressure to stay ahead of others and win is so much that even the heart starts beating. Also, some children have heart-related problems since birth, which can lead to heart attack if not treated on time.
Health experts say that in view of today’s times, it is important to pay special attention to lifestyle and eating habits to avoid heart attack. To keep the heart healthy, apart from regular physical activity and exercise, a balanced and nutritious diet should be taken. Parents should limit children’s screen time.
