Heart transplant of 19 year old boy to 25 year old boy, successful surgery in 13 hours in Delhi

Surgery lasted 13 hours in Delhi: The team of doctors of Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital has given a new life to a 19-year-old youth. The incident commemorates the first heart transplant that took place in South Africa on December 3, 1967. Louis Washkansky, 53, received a heart transplant from a 25-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a road accident. Louie died 18 days later in the incident. But, after such a ray of hope, many successful heart transplants have been done in the world.

According to reports, the 19-year-old had multiple heart complications. His problems were increasing day by day. He had many problems like difficulty in walking, difficulty in breathing, swelling in the stomach, increased heartbeat. Doctors were looking for a young heart for him. After three months of hard work, he was told at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital that he had a heart condition.

Permission was not taken from the donor family. But, he called the 19 year old patient to the hospital. On the other hand, a 25-year-old patient of Sir Gangaram Hospital suffered brain hemorrhage. On January 8, the traffic department was informed about this and with the approval of the patient’s family, a green corridor was made.

On one hand, the operation of a 19 year old boy was started in the operation theater of RML Hospital. On the other hand, a team of doctors from Gangaram Hospital left with a heavy heart. After a 13-hour surgery, the diseased heart of a 19-year-old youth was removed and the heart of a 25-year-old youth was transplanted.
