Big attack on Russia on the last day of presidential elections, attack on Ukraine with 35 drones

On Sunday, Ukraine carried out several drone attacks on Russian territories one after another. These attacks were carried out when Russians were voting on the last day of the presidential elections. With this election, Russian President Vladimir Putin will get six more years of rule. The Russian Defense Ministry reported shooting down 35 Ukrainian drones overnight, four of which were in the Moscow region.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said there were no casualties or damage. According to the Defense Ministry, two drones were shot down in the Kaluga region, just south of the Russian capital Moscow, and the Yaroslavl region, northeast of Moscow.

Ukrainian drone shot down

The Yaroslavl region is located approximately 800 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Ukraine's drone strikes in the region are among the most far-reaching yet conducted. More Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Belgorod, Kursk and Rostov regions bordering Ukraine and the southern Krasnodar region, the Defense Ministry said. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said a 16-year-old girl was killed and her father wounded in Ukrainian shelling on Sunday.

Drone fell on a refinery

According to regional authorities, a drone fell on a refinery in the Krasnodar region, causing a fire, which was extinguished a few hours later. Officials said a refinery employee died of a heart attack. Refineries and oil terminals have been major targets of Ukraine drone attacks.
