Mumbai: The films of great actors like Manoj Bajpayee are highly appreciated at film festivals or other places but they do not have much commercial value. Creator Devashish Makhija, who has made many films with Manoj Bajpayee, has said that he is in financial trouble.
Makhija's 'Zoram' was highly appreciated by film critics and was also honored in many film festivals. But there is no financial return in this film. This film has not even been released in theaters and no OTT platform is ready to pay a fair price for it.
Same was the situation with Manoj Bajpayee's previous film 'Bhonsle'.
According to Makhija, he has not been able to pay the rent of his house for several months and he has to plead with the landlord not to evict him from the house. According to 40-year-old Makhija, there is no way that she can even buy a bicycle herself.
He said that he had to face a lot of trouble to concentrate on the artistic aspect of the film instead of the commercial aspect. Everyone appreciates the film. Actors and directors are appreciated but nothing is done to financially support such films.
