Olympics 2024 will be held in Paris, the capital of France, from 26 July to 11 August. The Indian men's hockey team was recently selected for the big event. At the same time, now the Indian men's hockey team has also got a new coach to help in the Olympic preparations.
Indian team has got a new coach
India have re-inducted Dutch goalkeeping specialist Dennis van de Poel into their support staff to help the men's hockey team in its preparations for the Paris Olympics. Van de Pol has worked with the Indian team before also. He joined the Indian team for the first time in 2019. The Indian team is currently participating in the national coaching camp at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Joining the Van de Poel camp, the trio will work with goalkeepers PR Sreejesh, Krishna Pathak and Suraj Karkera.
Hockey India President said this
The 10-day special goalkeeping camp under the supervision of head coach Craig Fulton will conclude on March 26, a week before the team leaves for the Australia tour. Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey said that this is a very important phase for the Indian men's hockey team. Van de Poel had organized two special camps for the Indian team in July and September ahead of the Asian Games last year. “We are delighted to have Dennis on the team who has been working with this group of goalkeepers for almost four years and knows what changes need to be made to improve,” Tirkey said.
