New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections. Along with this, code of conduct has also been implemented across the country. Political parties and all leaders will have to follow this code of conduct. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar appealed to various parties to follow this code of conduct properly and adopt etiquette during campaigning.
Voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats will begin in seven phases from April 19, including 102 seats in the initial phase. When the votes will be counted on June 4. While announcing the dates, the Chief Election Commissioner also appealed to follow the code of conduct. He further said that I request everyone to avoid personal attacks and inappropriate language. We should not cross the limits of enmity towards each other.
The Chief Election Commissioner appealed to the political parties not to use any inflammatory speech, word or phrase. One should not provoke anyone even in the name of religion or caste. One should not attack anyone's personal life.
Etiquette should also be followed during advertisements or social media posts. Earlier we used to give verbal instructions but now we will take strict action. The objective of the Model Code of Conduct is to conduct elections in a transparent, peaceful manner. The Election Commission is free to take action against anyone who violates it.
