A major road accident took place in Bathinda district of Punjab on Friday, in which a private bus slipped from the bridge and fell into the drain. At least eight people died in this tragic incident, including a two-year-old girl. 18 other people were injured in the accident.

District administration statement
Bathinda Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shaukat Ahmed Parre informed that eight people have lost their lives in the incident. He told:
- Status of the dead: Five people died at Talwandi Hospital, while three others died at Civil Hospital, Bathinda.
- Identification Process: Of the eight dead, five have been identified, while three are still being identified.
