The condition of minorities in Bangladesh is getting worse day by day. First there were attacks on Hindus and Hindu temples and now there are attacks on Christians. On Christmas night, some unidentified miscreants set fire to 17 houses of Tripura community and burnt them.
This incident happened in Bandarban district. Some Christians moved to another village to celebrate Christmas because there was no church in their village and their houses were blown up. 17 out of 19 houses of Tripura community were burnt to ashes in the fire. Gangam Tripura, a victim Christian, said, Christmas was a day of happiness for us but we never thought that we would become homeless on Christmas day. Our demand is that the culprits should be given the harshest punishment.
Tree plantation in Kundjiri by evicting Tripura community
Thousands of Tripura community people have been living in the Kundjiri area for generations. A few years ago, he was forcibly removed from here and taken to another place. It is known that this area was rented out to the wife of a police officer, the woman was the IGP during the Awami League regime. After removing people from here, trees were planted there. Nava Tongjiri president Paisapru Tripura said his community has been living here for 3-4 generations. Five years ago, a community calling itself SP group had driven them out. After the fall of the Awami League government, some people from the Tripura community came back and started living here. He built a new house and started living here.
