Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has expressed apprehension ahead of the upcoming elections in Delhi that Chief Minister Atishi may be arrested in a fake case. On Wednesday, Kejriwal made this claim while holding a press conference with Atishi, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh. He said that action can also be taken against him through ED, CBI and Income Tax Department.

“Information received from sources”

Kejriwal said that he has received concrete information from sources that a plan is being made to arrest Atishi under a fake case of the Transport Department.

He said:

“3-4 days ago we came to know from our sources that a meeting of ED, CBI and Income Tax was held. Orders have been given from above that Atishi should be arrested by somehow implicating him in a fake case. I am making this allegation with full responsibility.”

Kejriwal claims that this conspiracy is being hatched to disrupt his party’s election preparations and weaken its leaders.

“Attempt to stop free travel of women”

Kejriwal alleged that a fake case is being made in the transport department to stop the free travel of women.

  • He said that Delhi Government’s Mahila Yatra Scheme is hurting BJP.
  • BJP wants that the popular schemes of their party among the public should be weakened.

Kejriwal appealed to the public and said:

“People will respond to such dirty conspiracies. The people of the country do not like such politics.”

Atishi’s statement: “I have faith in justice”

Chief Minister Atishi also reacted to this matter in the press conference.

  • He said that he is being targeted with the help of a fake case of the Transport Department.
  • He said:

“I have always worked honestly. Even if I am arrested, the truth will eventually come out. I have full faith in the justice system of the country.”

“Attempts to stop public facilities”

Atishi alleged that BJP is exerting pressure to defame the government’s Mahila Samman Yojana and other schemes.

  • He said that the public recognizes the truth and will answer it in the elections.

Clarification on Mahila Samman Yojana and Rs 1000 scheme

Atishi also targeted BJP over the wrong information issued by the Women and Child Welfare Department and the Health Department.

Mahila Samman Yojana:

  • Some officers published wrong information in the newspapers that Mahila Samman Yojana does not exist.
  • Atishi clarified that cabinet notification of this scheme has been done and it is completely legal.
  • He said:

“Strict police action will be taken against such officers. BJP is spreading misinformation by creating pressure.”

Rs 1000 plan:

  • It has been announced that this scheme will be expanded to Rs 2100.
  • Kejriwal said that this is an election promise of the Aam Aadmi Party and it will be implemented after the elections.

Sanjeevani Scheme:

  • Delhi government has also promised to launch Sanjeevani scheme in the election announcement.
  • Assuring the public, Kejriwal said that every scheme will be implemented after the elections.

“Public trust on election announcement”

Arvind Kejriwal stressed that his party’s election promises are not just lip service.

  • He appealed to the public that “those who are registering will get benefits after the elections.”
  • It is clear that AAP party is preparing to enter the election field by making its schemes the main issue.
