Indian stock markets will remain closed today, Wednesday, 25 December 2024. Due to Christmas festival, there will be no trading in BSE and NSE. Additionally, there will be no trading in currency derivatives, commodity derivatives, and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments.

A total of 16 holidays were declared on BSE and NSE in the year 2024. The first holiday was on Republic Day (26 January), while today is the last holiday of the year due to Christmas.

There will be only four trading days this week (ending December 27) due to the Christmas holiday.

According to BSE, the Indian stock market will be closed on a total of 14 holidays in 2025.

  • Diwali Muhurat Trading: Will be held on Tuesday, October 21. Its timing will be announced later.
  • The stock market will remain open as Republic Day (January 26) is on Sunday.
  • Last Holiday: 25 December 2025 (Christmas).
