Voting will be held in Khunti parliamentary constituency on May 13

Khunti, March 16 (Hindustan Reporter) Voting will be held on May 13 in 11 Khunti parliamentary constituencies reserved for tribals. Counting of votes will take place at the local Birsa College on June 4. In the fourth phase of the country and the first phase of Jharkhand, voting will be done in Khunti parliamentary constituency. As soon as the Lok Sabha elections were announced, the Model Code of Conduct came into force in the entire parliamentary constituency.

District Electoral Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Lokesh Mishra told in the press conference held in his office on Saturday evening that notification for Khunti parliamentary seat will be issued on April 18. Candidates can file nomination papers till 25th April. The nominations will be scrutinized on May 26. The date of withdrawal of nomination is 29 April. On May 13, votes will be cast at 1705 polling stations in the parliamentary constituency. Of these, 549 polling stations are in Khunti district.

Deputy Commissioner said that 297 polling stations have been made in Khunti Assembly of Khunti Parliamentary Constituency, divided into six assembly constituencies. Similarly, 252 Madan centers have been made in Torpa, 303 in Tamar, 282 in Kharsawan, 270 in Simdega and 301 in Kolebira. The total number of voters in Khunti parliamentary constituency is 13 lakh 10 thousand 445, out of which 645663 are male and 666776 are female voters.

Deputy Commissioner said that for peaceful, fair and transparent elections, 38 clusters and 549 booths have been made in Khunti district under Khunti Lok Sabha. 72 Sector Magistrates, 110 Micro Observers, 659 Presiding Officers and equal number of First Polling Officers, Second and Third Polling Officers have been made. He said that Mohanlal Marandi has been made ARO for Adki block of Tamar assembly in Khunti district, while Parmeshwar Munda has been made ARO for Torpa and Aniket Sachan has been made Assistant Returning Officer for Khunti.

The District Election Officer said that keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections, many programs have been organized under the SVEEP. Polling centers have been marked where less number of voters were reported to have turned up in the last election. For this, apart from posters, banners, drawings and paintings, street plays, Prabhatferi, meetings, Sakhi Mandal as well as election school have been formed in every polling station. EVM and VVPAT have been demonstrated at the district level. 701 police officers have been deputed to ensure peaceful elections.
