‘Somnath Suryavanshi died in custody’
During the Parbhani tour, the Congress leader said, ‘I met the family of Somnath Suryavanshi and the people who were beaten. They also showed me the postmortem report, video and photographs, from which it can be 100 percent clear that he died in custody. He has been murdered, yet the Chief Minister lied in the Assembly to send a message to the police. This young man was murdered because he was a Dalit and was protecting the Constitution.
The ideology of RSS is to destroy the Constitution.
Rahul further said that the ideology of RSS is to destroy the Constitution. We want that this incident should be immediately investigated and those who commit such acts should be punished. There is no politics going on in this, only ideology is responsible. Since the Chief Minister has given such a statement, he is responsible. He killed them. Action should be taken on this incident as soon as possible. Earlier, senior NCP leader Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had visited Parbhani yesterday.
Why did violence erupt in Parbhani?
Let us tell you that last week the replica of the Constitution kept near the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar outside Parbhani Railway Station was damaged by some unknown person. After this the incidents of arson and stone pelting started. Many organizations expressed anger over the insult to the Constitution and called for a bandh in many cities. However, during the bandh, people suddenly became furious and started arson, stone pelting and burning vehicles at many places. After the situation went out of control, the police released tear gas shells. After the violence, Parbhani police had detained 300 people including Suryavanshi on December 12. However, Somnath died in judicial custody after 72 hours.
