Delhi Assembly elections 2025 are going to be very interesting. Along with Congress, BJP, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), this time new parties like Janhit Dal and Delhi Democratic Alliance have also entered the electoral fray. The special thing is that Janhit Dal has given new life to the elections by making former civil defense volunteers its candidates.

Announcement of candidates of Delhi Democratic Alliance

The Delhi Democratic Alliance, which includes Janhit Dal, Janata Party, and Delhi Janata Party, announced the names of six candidates on Friday.

  • Burari Assembly: Anil Kumar
  • Timarpur Assembly: Rakesh Ranjan Srivastava
  • Mustafabad Assembly: Lalit Bhati
  • Mundka Assembly: Praveen Kumar Lakra
  • Narela Assembly: Smt. Shyamo Devi

Political journey of civil defense volunteers

Of these six candidates, five are civil defense volunteers, who have been struggling for their jobs for the last 14 months.

  • Janhit Dal President Anshuman Joshi said that the party has always supported the rights of civil defense personnel and has also supported them in the court in their fight.
  • By giving candidature to these volunteers, the party has worked to give political identity to their struggle.

Preparations of AAP, Congress and BJP

Delhi Assembly elections are to be held in February 2025. Although the dates have not been announced yet, political parties have started their preparations.

    • AAP has been the first to announce its candidates on all the 70 seats.
  • Congress:
    • Congress has so far released the list of 21 candidates.
  • BJP:
    • BJP has not yet released the list of its candidates, but according to sources, BJP may also announce the names of its candidates next week.
