- He said in the Assembly that when Allu Arjun was informed about the stampede and death, he reportedly said, “Now the film will be a hit.”
What happened on 4th December?
On December 4, a stampede broke out during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad.
- Result:
- A 35-year-old woman died.
- Her 8-year-old son was injured and admitted to the hospital.
- Security Concerns:
- The theater management had written a letter to the police on December 2 demanding security.
- The police had refused permission citing there being only one gate for entry and exit and difficulties in crowd management.
Reddy’s charge: Road show and crowd management
Chief Minister Reddy claimed that Allu Arjun carried out a road show despite the huge crowd and waved at the crowd while entering the theatre. They say this caused the situation to worsen.
Allu Arjun’s answer
Allu Arjun clarified that he has been monitoring the child’s condition since the incident and has his full sympathies to the family. He described the incident as an “accident” and refused to blame anyone.
