Mohan Bhagwat on education system: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) president Mohan Bhagwat had earlier also expressed displeasure over raising the new temple-mosque issue. Now Bhagwat has raised questions on the existing education system. The RSS chief said the education system should work as a facilitator and not a barrier to learning. The system also needs to keep up with changing times and preserve the core values.
education is not a profession
The RSS chief, who came to inaugurate the Lok Seva e-School in Baner, emphasized that education is not a profession. But, there is a vow to become a good person. The education system should act as a facilitator rather than a barrier to learning. We need to bring together the modern and the ancient, to which all people must contribute. Education should not be limited to any one structure but should be holistic, which protects the entire society.
The education system does not act only as a regulator
Regarding Mohan Bhagwate, the education system should act as a tool to empower students rather than merely acting as a regulator. He said the penal system should focus on ensuring good governance and not on enforcing ‘do’s and don’ts’.
Appreciation of National Education Policy
Praising the National Education Policy (NEP), the RSS chief said that though it has been introduced now, discussions for such a system have been going on for many years. Many schools have been working on ‘value-based’ education system for a long time, he said. The new education system will be fully implemented and will take this country towards the desired dream. We need to change ourselves with time. But, while doing so, we must also ensure that we remain connected to our core values.
