Jhansi, 20 December (Hindustan Reporter). The work of identifying the beneficiaries and making cards under the Ayushman Vaya Vandan Yojana, which was started to provide health insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh to all the elderly above 70 years of age, is going on at a fast pace. So far, cards of more than 17 thousand elderly people have been made under the scheme in the three districts of Jhansi division and a continuous campaign is being run to mark them and make cards.
In the month of September, the Central Government has included all the elderly above 70 years of age in the scheme without any conditions under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. These elderly people are being provided health insurance of Rs 5 lakh annually. This initiative started for the elderly has been named Ayushman Vaya Vandan Yojana. Under this scheme, cards of 17810 beneficiaries have been made in Jhansi division. Cards have been made for 8344 beneficiaries in Jhansi, 6565 in Jalaun and 2901 in Lalitpur.
Divisional Project Manager of NHM, Anand Choubey said that a campaign is being run to cover all the elderly above 70 years of age under Ayushman Scheme. The Health Department is motivating people to make cards by organizing camps, motivating them through hopes and providing information. Beneficiaries can also make this card online themselves. So far, more than 17 thousand cards have been made under this scheme in Jhansi division.
