The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of deliberately reaching the Parliament House complex during the ruling party’s protest and being pushy and indecent. BJP said that Rahul Gandhi’s conduct does not make him eligible for the post of Leader of Opposition.

BJP’s allegation: Indecent and rude behavior

In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour. Chauhan said:

“The civilized society cannot even imagine the indecent and hooligan behavior that Rahul Gandhi displayed in the Parliament complex today.”

He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi ignored the advice of security personnel and deliberately pushed into the midst of BJP MPs.

Mention of injured MPs

Referring to the MPs injured in the incident, BJP made serious allegations against Rahul Gandhi:

  • Pratap Sarangi:
    • Chauhan said that because of Rahul Gandhi, elderly MP Pratap Sarangi fell and suffered serious injury on his forehead.
    • Sarangi was earlier admitted in the ICU and his treatment is still going on.
  • Mukesh Rajput:
    • “When I went to the hospital to see the other injured MP, Mukesh Rajput, he had not regained consciousness,” he said.

Chauhan asked:

“Will physical force be used instead of logic in Parliament?”

Allegation of indecent behavior with tribal woman MP

BJP also accused tribal woman MP Phangnon Konyak of indecent and uncivilized behavior.

  • Shivraj Singh Chouhan said:

“The Chairman said that Fannon had come to him crying and said that she had been treated indecently.”

    • He questioned Rahul Gandhi and Congress:

“Is such behavior with a female tribal MP acceptable?”

BJP’s counter attack on Congress

Shivraj Singh Chauhan also targeted the press conference of Congress. He said:

“We expected Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge to apologize for their misdeeds in Parliament, but they showed arrogance.”

Chauhan accused Congress of trying to divert attention from the issues.

Rahul Gandhi’s counterattack

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and said that the entire incident was done to divert attention from Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on Babasaheb Ambedkar. He said:

“The Home Minister should apologize for his statement and resign.”

Rahul Gandhi accused BJP of conspiring to defame Congress by making false allegations.
