WTC Points Table Update: The third Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy currently being played between India and Australia was held at Gabba, Brisbane. The match was canceled due to rain on the fifth day. Therefore the match was cancelled. And thus the third match was a draw. India got the target of 275 runs to win the match. After three Test matches, both the teams are tied at 1-1 in the series. Even after the match was drawn, the Indian team’s hopes of reaching the final of the World Test Championship are still intact.

How many points does India have in the WTC points table?

After the cancellation of the third test match, both India and Australia have got 4 points each. According to ICC rules, after the cancellation of the match, both the teams get equal points. However, after this match no significant change was seen in the WTC point table. The Indian team is still at third place in the points table. Apart from this, Australia is at second place and South Africa is at first place. After the Gaba Test, the Australian team has 106 points and the Indian team has 114 points.

Will India reach the final?

Now 2 test matches of Border Gavaskar Trophy are left. If the Indian team has to reach the final of the World Test Championship on its own, then the team will have to win the next two test matches. By winning the series 3-1, the Indian team will get the ticket for the final. But if the series ends with a 2-2 result, then the focus of the Indian team will be on the upcoming Test series between Sri Lanka and Australia.
