Mumbai: Former state Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Pandey has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the extortion case filed against him by the Thane Police, alleging that the people behind filing the case were It is political vendetta. Mrs. Dangre and Nyaa. Deshpande’s bench heard the arguments briefly and fixed further hearing on December 19.

In the petition, Pandey claimed that the complaint of extortion, criminal conspiracy and cheating filed against him by businessman Sanjay Punmiya was motivated by political interest.

Punmiya alleged in the complaint that Pandey, as DGP in 2021, misused his position to extort money and was forced to give false statements. It was said in the petition that the FIR was registered after three years. The delay proves that the complaint is fabricated and the complainant never even talked to Pandey.

The FIR said that Pandey and two retired police officers as well as others had threatened Poonmiya that if she did not implicate political personalities in the urban land capping scam, she would be implicated in a false case.

This FIR has been registered due to the ongoing political war against him after his retirement from police service. Pandey gave a message to implicate Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and former police commissioner Parambir Singh. Punamiya said in the allegation that she was admitted in Saifi Hospital at that time.

Pandey has applied for anticipatory bail and has been remanded till January 3, 2025.
