The taste of fresh peas is special in winter. Various dishes are prepared from peas, but if you want to make something quick and tasty, then pea toast is a great option. You can also make this for children’s tiffin box. The special thing is that you can make this toast even without bread. Let us know the easy way to make pea toast.

To make pea toast, you need these ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh peas
  • 2 tbsp green coriander (chopped)
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/2 tsp celery
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)
  • Ghee or butter (for irrigation)

Easy recipe to make pea toast:

  1. Prepare pea paste:
    • First of all, add 2 cups fresh peas, some green coriander and 3-4 green chillies in a mixer jar and grind them. Keep in mind that the paste should not be too smooth, keep it slightly coarse.
  2. Prepare the batter:
    • Now add 1 cup semolina to this pea paste.
    • Add celery, salt and chili flakes to it and mix well.
    • Then prepare the solution by adding half a cup of water to it and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the stuffing:
    • Meanwhile, prepare the stuffing.
    • In a bowl, add finely chopped capsicum, onion, green chilli, oregano, salt and grated mozzarella cheese and mix well.
  4. Start making toast:
    • Now heat a sandwich griller or non-stick pan and apply light ghee or butter.
    • Spread some pea batter evenly in it.
    • Place the prepared stuffing on top of it and cover it lightly with the batter again.
    • Cook the toast on low flame for 10 minutes so that it gets completely cooked from inside.
    • If using an electronic toaster, grill the toast until cooked on both sides.
  5. Serving:
    • Once the toast is ready, cut it into diagonal or square pieces.
    • Serve it hot with ketchup or green chutney.

Tips:

  • If you want to make the toast more crispy, keep the batter a little thinner.
  • Keeping the pea paste slightly coarse enhances the taste.
  • You can also add cheese in the stuffing for children.
