This is how Bangladesh was created

In 1971, India fought against Pakistan in East Pakistan, supporting the Bengali nationalist faction in the Bangladeshi War of Independence. Ultimately Pakistan lost this war and had to face a heavy defeat. It was the year 1970-71, when Pakistani General Yahya Khan started massacring the common people in East Pakistan through his repressive military rule. Then Sheikh Mujibur Rahman inspired the common people to fight and formed the Mukti Bahini army. Help was also sought from India. After this, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi gave permission for war to the Indian Army to save the people of East Pakistan from the cruelty of Pakistan.

That’s why it is special for India

Subsequently, the Indian Army launched Operation Trident on 4 December 1971. In this war, the Indian Army forced the Pakistani Army Commander General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi to surrender on 16 December 1971. After this the Commander General formally surrendered to the combined forces of Mukti Bahini of India and Bangladesh.
