Jaipur, March 15 (HS). Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasara said that even after the Rajasthan government's announcement of reducing the VAT on petrol and diesel, the Prime Minister's guarantee of making the prices of petrol and diesel at par with the neighboring state Haryana proved to be a jumla. The people of Rajasthan were cheated. He said that even today petrol in Rajasthan is costlier by Rs 10 per liter compared to Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Dotasara was addressing a press conference at the state Congress headquarters on Friday. He said that the price of petrol in Rajasthan is Rs 104.88, in Gujarat Rs 94.40, in Haryana Rs 95.50 and in Uttar Pradesh Rs 97.37. He said that the price of diesel in Rajasthan is Rs 90.36, in the neighboring BJP ruled state Haryana the price of diesel is Rs 88.39 and this situation is at a time when the petrol companies of the country are earning profit of Rs 8 to 10 per liter on petrol and diesel and oil. The annual profit of the companies is more than Rs 1 lakh crore. He said that the reduction in petrol and diesel made by the Rajasthan government and the central government is inadequate and the BJP has come to power on the basis of false promises and statements but is not providing relief to the people from inflation. He said that Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri has tweeted that those governments which are still selling petrol at a cost of Rs 15, should bow their heads in shame. He said that Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma should now obey the orders of Modi ji and bow his head in front of the public and media due to expensive petrol and diesel in the state.
He said that the game of taking donations has been played on the lines of give and take, take the work – give the price, raid – take donation, case ruffa-dafa karo. He said that even now it has been said by the Honorable Supreme Court that why the numbers of the bonds given have not been made public. He said that when the numbers of the bonds will come, then the information will be shared that which company gave how much donation to which party through which number of bonds, at that time the truth of BJP will be completely exposed in front of the country.
While addressing, MLA Rohit Bohra said that based on the announcement made by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma about reducing the weight, the talk of making petrol and diesel cheaper has worked to reduce the transportation cost. For example, petrol and diesel are cheap in Bharatpur because petrol is supplied there through pipeline from Mathura Refinery. He said that in Bharatpur and Hanumangarh there is a difference of Rs 2 per liter in the prices of petrol and Rs 1.87 per liter in diesel. He said that this means that the work of price equalization has not been done.
