The severity of winter is continuously increasing in Bihar. Sunday night proved to be the coldest night of this season, when the minimum temperature in the state dropped to 4.3 degrees Celsius. The westerly winds, which are entering Bihar from the snow-covered hilly areas, are the main reason for this severe cold. There is dense fog in the morning, reducing visibility and many trains are running late by hours.

Bihar weather condition

According to the Meteorological Center based in Patna, due to fresh snowfall in the hilly areas, cold westerly winds are coming in Bihar. Due to these winds, a drop in temperature is being recorded in the state.

  • When there is snowfall in the hilly areas, the cold winds coming from that direction increase the coldness in the plain areas.
  • However, at present no Western Disturbance is active.
  • Due to this, the weather remains dry and light sunshine is seen during the day.
  • Due to sunshine, the effect of westerly winds reduces somewhat, due to which there may be a slight increase in temperature.
