Jaipur, 15 December (Hindustan Reporter). The ninth edition of Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon (VPCHM) successfully concluded in Jaipur on Sunday. This marathon was a great display of community spirit and determination. Vedanta’s Run for Zero Hunger campaign received support from around 15,000 runners, raising over 1 lakh meals for children and animals. Under this initiative, for every kilometer run, Vedanta pledges to provide nutrition to one child and food to one animal. The initiative was run through Anil Agarwal Foundation (Af), the social arm of Vedanta.
This year’s edition featured animals as well as children’s improved nutrition, recognizing the interconnected health of people, animals and the environment under the ‘One Health’ approach. This ‘Meals for All’ initiative will also benefit animals through AAF’s animal welfare project, The Animal Care Organization (TACO), as well as children from 6,600 Nand homes running across 15 states. Will reach. 1 crore meals were collected under the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon held in October. On this basis, VPCHM 2024 further strengthens Vedanta’s commitment to end hunger and malnutrition.
This marathon was organized by Anybody Can Run (ABCR). ABCR is a virtual running platform that allows people to participate in various races online. The marathon, supported by Vedanta, was flagged off from NRI Chauraha, Mahal Road in Jaipur by Arun Mishra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc Limited and Executive Director, Vedanta Limited, and Dino Morea, Actor and Event Ambassador, Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon. It has three categories These were: 21 km Half Marathon, 10 km Cool Run, and 5 km Dream Run.
Commenting on the success of the Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon, Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Limited and Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Limited, said that the Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon was a celebration of community spirit and shared purpose, which helped in achieving the goals of the Run for Zero Hunger initiative. Thousands of runners united under. Every step taken during the marathon brought us closer to our mission of nourishing children and feeding animals. Our Nand Ghar network aims to promote the holistic development of children, while our partnership with Ranthambore National Park and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve reflects our commitment to animal welfare. A few days before the race was held, mini marathons were organized in Jaipur and Barmer, uniting people for the cause. Indian runner, Sufia Sufi also supported the Run for Zero Hunger.
