On Sunday afternoon, workers of various organizations, river experts along with technology experts also observed the plight of Varuna River from Shastrighat located in Kachari. After this, brainstorming was held in the office of Shared Culture Forum located at Nepali Kothi Nadesar to remove the plight of the river.
Speakers said that purification of Ganga will not be possible without reviving the two rivers ‘Varuna’ and ‘Asi’ which give identity to the name Varanasi. Revival of these rivers will be possible only with public participation and administrative will power. In the meeting on Varuna River Revitalization Possibilities and Challenges, scientists from Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, IIT Kashi Hindu University, People’s Science Institute Dehradun along with environment conscious citizens, environmental activists, Bhu Seva Jal Seva Abhiyan workers, Varuna River Samvad Yatra participated.
