UPI: Unified Payments Interface i.e. UPI has achieved another major achievement. According to the data released by the Finance Ministry on Saturday, from January to November this year, more than 15,547 crore transactions worth Rs 223 lakh crore have been done through UPI. The Finance Ministry has shared UPI-related data on the digital payments revolution through a post on its official X handle.
UPI was launched by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in 2016. UPI, a system that integrates multiple bank accounts into a single mobile app to facilitate online payments, has seen double the number of transactions in the first seven months of FY2025 compared to the previous year.
UPI transactions doubled
From April to October this year, more than 750 million people paid Rs. As per UPI, 63,825.8 crore transactions have been done through credit cards. In FY2024, the number of transactions through credit cards as UPI was 362.8 million, with a total value of Rs. 33,439.24 crore. The government has started the facility of UPI transactions on credit cards by September 2022. In which users can easily transact with the help of UPI application.
Transactions worth around Rs 17 billion in October
16.58 billion transactions recorded through UPI in October 2024. The number of UPI transactions increased by 38 percent in November from 24 percent to Rs. It is worth Rs 21.55 lakh crore.
