Varanasi, 15 December (HS). On Sunday, devotees were happy to see the Sat, Raja and Tam form (threefold adornment) of Baba’s child idol in the Batuk Bhairav temple located in Kamchha. There was a queue of devotees for darshan and worship in Batuk Bhairav Darbar since early morning. The crowd of devotees increased as the day progressed.
Before this, early in the morning in the temple, under the supervision of Mahant Jitendra Mohan Puri, Baba’s child idol was given a Panchamrit bath. After this, Satvik adornment was done with 51 kg white fiddle and other white flowers. After this, panchmeva, fruits and sweets were offered and after Mangala Aarti, the doors of the temple were opened for the devotees to have darshan.
In the evening, Baba Batuk Bhairav was decorated in a royal form with gold and silver ornaments along with rose flowers. 56 bhog were offered to Baba. Baba’s Aarti was performed at night. Before the Maha Aarti at midnight, Baba will be adorned with Tamasic makeup and Chakrasana puja will be done. Along with the offering of Panch Makar, Baba’s khappar will be filled with liquor. After this, the doors of the temple will be closed after performing Maha Aarti. Mahant Jitendra Mohan Puri “Vijay Guru” told that Rudra Batuk Mahayagya started in the evening for public welfare in the court which will continue till 10 pm. For this special Yagya, the Havan Kund located in the temple courtyard is fully opened only once a year. Whose depth is approximately 6 feet. This Havan is being performed with materials like Sakla, different types of dry fruits, paddy slag, honey, Batasha Tantrokta herb and pure desi ghee etc.
Let us tell you that devotees from Varanasi and surrounding districts flock to the court to see the annual triple adornment of the child form of Mahadev. Bal Batuk Bhairav is considered to be the destroyer of troubles and the remover of fear and sorrow. In Hindu religion, Baba Batuk Bhairav is considered a symbol of courage, protection and justice. He is worshiped specifically to remove negative energies and obstacles. There is a belief in Kashi that Bhairav Baba in the form of Kotwal takes the responsibility of taking care of the city of Baba Vishwanath. Kaal Bhairav in Vishveshwarkhand of Kashi and child form Batuk Bhairav in Kedarkhand have got this responsibility. Devotees offer Satvik, Rajsi and Tamasi offerings during puja and aarti. Fruits and sweets are offered to Baba in a satvik way, Panchmeva in the evening and two khappar liquor along with meat, fish, egg, vada, puri are offered as bhog at night. After worshiping Ashta Bhairav and Ashta Matrika, it is given as Prasad to their vehicle dog.
