Laborer burnt in Brahmaputra Metallic Plant, villagers create ruckus after death

Ramgarh, 15 December (Hindustan Reporter). A worker died due to scorching in Brahmaputra Metallic Private Limited Company under Gola police station area of ​​Ramgarh district. Angered by the death of the worker, the local villagers started creating ruckus at the gate of the plant on Sunday. According to the information, four days ago Podo Mahato, a resident of Gola, was working in the plant. During this time, he got badly burnt due to the fire of CCS which smelted iron. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Ranchi for better treatment. The laborer died during treatment on Sunday.

Family members and local villagers blocked the gate of the plant demanding compensation. On receiving information about the incident, MLA Mamta Devi reached the plant and held talks with the management. During this period, a compensation amount of Rs 15 lakh was given to the dependents of the deceased. Besides, assurance was given by the management to provide job to the wife of the deceased for the maintenance of the family and help in the education of both the younger children. After consent was reached, the body was cremated.
