CP Mohit Aggarwal took to the streets to clear the jam in Varanasi.

Varanasi, 15 December (HS). To solve the serious problem of road jam in Varanasi city, Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal visited the city on Sunday. On Saturday evening, he gave instructions to the officers to review the reasons for the huge jam on the Ganga bridge located in front of Lanka Ghat and to avoid jams in future. He asked the Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) to identify the police personnel responsible for the jam on the bridge and submit the report within 03 days.

The Police Commissioner asked to put on duty civil police and traffic police on each side of the Ghat bridge in front. Asked to run a campaign to remove encroachments from both sides of the ghat bridge in front (Lanka side and Ramnagar side). He also took stock of the one-way, U-turn and cut closure etc. in view of the traffic arrangements on the Ganga bridge. Police officers were directed to take effective action against tractor-trolleys and other vehicles moving in the wrong direction and stressed on strict compliance with the no-entry rule. Asked to coordinate with the concerned department for continuous action against illegal vehicle stands and road mafia and to repair faulty signal lights. The CP issued a notice to such hotels, hospitals, marriage lawns etc. where parking facilities are not available and vehicles are parked on the roads, asking them to take action. Similarly, strict instructions were given not to park vehicles on roads, to use designated places and parking lots in commercial establishments. During this, Deputy Commissioner of Police Kashi Zone Gaurav Vanshwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Kashi Neetu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Assistant Police Commissioner Traffic and concerned police station in-charge were also present.
