An exciting friendly cricket match was played between Ajanta Sports Club, Jammu and Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor (Under-16) in which the young players displayed their excellent sportsmanship and sportsmanship. The match was inaugurated by distinguished guests including Rakesh Malhotra (Managing Director, Shubhatilak Hospital and former councillor), Deepesh Singh (former Municipal President), Atul Sudan and Sham Singh Langeh (Zonal Head, Disabled Cricket Board of India).
Rakesh Malhotra, the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, while encouraging the players, said that for the young generation, sports not only strengthens physical and mental health but also develops qualities like discipline, teamwork and leadership. Such events give the youth an opportunity to showcase their talent and play at a higher level in the future.
Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor won the toss and decided to bowl first. Ajanta Sports Club set a strong target of 157 runs, in which Pehlaj performed brilliantly and scored unbeaten 74 runs. Kanishk contributed 16 runs. Jatin, Smiley and Gautam took one wicket each from Singh Cricket Club. Chasing the target, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor was all out for 114 runs. Akash scored 42 runs for the team and was the top scorer. Rehan of Ajanta Sports played an important role in his team’s victory by taking 2 important wickets. Ajanta Sports Jammu won the match by 42 runs. Pehlaj was declared man of the match for his excellent performance (74 not out).
