Former CM KCR's daughter Kavita arrested in Delhi liquor scam

Hyderabad, March 15 (HS). Former Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi President KCR's daughter and MLC Kavitha has been arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials. Eight officers led by the Joint Directorate in the Delhi liquor scam case searched his residence in Banjar Hills on Friday afternoon. After this the officers arrested him. Regarding this, MLC Kavita questioned the ED officials on what basis they were arresting her and asked for a transit warrant from the ED officials.

In a press release issued to the media and a memo given to Kavita, ED officials said that she has been arrested in the Delhi Liquor case. According to ED, he was arrested at 5.20 pm on Friday. By ED. A 14-page memo was given to Kavita explaining the reason for the arrest. ED has revealed that along with Kavita, her husband Anil has also been informed and Kavita has been charged under Section 3 of the Money Laundering Act and found guilty by the directorate. After this, amidst tight security, Kavita was taken to Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad, where the police had to resort to mild lathicharge amid protests from party workers.

Kavita told the workers of Bharat Rashtra Samiti that she will fight no matter how many such atrocities happen and appealed to the workers to keep their morale strong. She said she would face her opponents with faith in the law.

Earlier, there was tension as a large number of party workers reached Kavita's residence. They raised slogans against the central government and ED. Bharat Rashtra Samiti's legal cell general secretary Soma Bharat said that she was not told why Kavita was being arrested. He asked that if the matter is pending in the Supreme Court, then why were the arrests made even before the elections?

The party's legal expert has talked about filing a petition in the Supreme Court tomorrow and has announced to take legal action. At present, till the time of writing the news, Kavita has left for New Delhi. Where he will be presented in Rouse Avenue Court tomorrow.
